About Troop 46

Our chartering organization is the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn.  As the Boy Scouts of America prescribe, we are a scout led troop that focus on teaching boys outdoor and leadership skills.

Scout Leadership
Boy Scout Camping
We have monthly weekend camp outs throughout the year that help our scouts learn key skills.  These include camping, hiking, outdoor cooking, first aid, and backpacking. We also provide the scouts with fun opportunities that include bike rides, canoe trips, rock climbing, and skiing.
Our troop participates in an annual summer camp where the boys focus on scout advancement. They also have plenty of fun with activities that include boating, fishing, archery and rifle and shotgun shooting.
Boy Scout Shot Gun Shooting
Backpacking in Philmont
The highlight of our year is our annual high adventure trip. In recent years, our trips have included all four BSA National High Adventure Bases. We have visited Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota, Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, and Sea Base in the Florida Keys.
We are fortunate to have many of volunteers to help run the troop, including a history of great Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters.

Troop 46 has an excellent reputation of scouts who have attained Boy Scout’s highest rank, the Eagle Scout Award. Scouts who earn this award meet all advancement requirements, commit to community service with the completion of a significant project, and have demonstrated leadership skills within the troop.
